Team Lead / Manager, Engineering

Location: Remote in Canada; Canadian applicants only. Occasional in-person travel is required.

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 per year, plus eligibility for the company Stock Option Plan.

What you will do

• Lead and empower product engineering teams while connecting product strategy with technical execution.
• Manage engineers’ professional and technical growth through regular 1:1s, feedback, objectives, and career development.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to design, build, and ship user experiences.
• Improve engineering practices, delivery processes, teamwork, and self-organization.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and initiatives supporting diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Guide technical discussions and contribute hands-on when needed across feature development, architecture, data scaling, and system performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading or managing software development teams.
• Strong technical background with the ability to guide technical discussions and contribute hands-on.
• Strong understanding of planning, building, testing, and maintaining complex software applications.
• Effective communication and collaboration with Product, Design, and stakeholder teams.
• Ability to align product roadmaps with business objectives and deliver results.
• Must be a Canadian applicant; the role is remote within Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with SOC 2 controls and implementation.
• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, or Heroku.
• Familiarity with observability tools.
