Staff Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $192,000–$264,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Set the pod’s technical direction, roadmap, architecture, and prioritization.
• Design and deliver new programs of care, including differentiated features and workflows.
• Stabilize and scale launched programs by improving reliability, performance, and quality.
• Extend shared services using NestJS, React Native, and PostgreSQL.
• Partner with Product and multiple engineering teams to deliver cohesive member experiences.
• Champion CI/CD, testing, monitoring, code review, mentorship, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of non-internship, full-time professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of TypeScript or JavaScript experience across the stack, including Node.js/NestJS and React or React Native.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and containerization tools.
• 2+ years of experience with relational databases, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
• 3+ years of mentoring or leading engineers and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
• Experience setting technical direction, coordinating delivery across multiple teams, and making architectural decisions.

Nice to have

• Direct NestJS experience and mobile application development experience.
• Experience working in healthcare under HIPAA or another highly regulated environment involving sensitive member data.
