TL;DR
Senior Integration & Test Engineer I (Aerospace): Developing, integrating, and testing flight spacecraft systems and the environmental test infrastructure supporting them with an accent on spacecraft verification, qualification testing, and ground support equipment. Focus on leading test campaigns, investigating anomalous vehicle behavior, and interfacing with flight software and hardware-in-the-loop systems.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters

Base pay: $125,000–$167,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Lead integration and test campaigns across spacecraft development stages.
  • Define systems requirements and verification and validation plans with engineering teams.
  • Develop acceptance, qualification, and research-and-development test plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and operate environmental test systems, including vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal, and EMI systems.
  • Develop and maintain mechanical and electrical ground support equipment and facilities.
  • Interface with ground test software, flight software configuration, and hardware-in-the-loop systems while investigating anomalous vehicle behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or another engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in test engineering or another hands-on engineering role.
  • Experience with environmental testing, such as thermal vacuum or random vibration testing.
  • Proficiency with C, C++, Python, or MATLAB, plus Windows 10 and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience writing technical documentation, including procedures, reports, and requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required; U.S. ITAR eligibility applies.

Nice to have

  • Advanced engineering degree or aerospace test engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of satellite subsystems, spacecraft harnesses, sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition electronics.
  • Experience with clean rooms, ESD-sensitive equipment, electrical test equipment, RF testing, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience designing test systems for electronics, using 3D CAD software such as NX, or working with Linux and networking.
