Facilities Technician II (Aerospace)

Location: Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, United States; on-site facilities maintenance supporting launch operations.

Salary: $22.00–$27.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect and repair interior and exterior facility structures, including roofs, ceilings, walls, floors, fixtures, and concrete.
• Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance for HVAC systems, generators, cranes, corrosion control, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain outdoor grounds and parking areas, and assemble or move furniture, racks, and site equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors on larger multi-trade projects and document completed work in maintenance tickets.
• Support launch campaigns and launch-day activities, including responding to emergencies during and after hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of facility or maintenance experience.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Suite, and the ability to manage schedules and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to lift and manipulate 50 pounds, operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid Real ID driver's license, clean driving record, attention to detail, professionalism, and compliance with safety and security procedures.
• Ability to pass Space Force background checks for Vandenberg SFB, California; eligibility under U.S. ITAR regulations is required.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of handy-person or construction-trade experience.
• Detailed knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration, concrete, or framing.
• Knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
