Product Quality Engineer (Commercial Aviation)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States

Salary: $64,500–$101,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $79,500–$119,500 annually.

What you will do

• Analyze supplier product yield and field reliability data to identify trends and improve system performance.
• Develop and maintain automated reports and technical dashboards using Python.
• Lead root-cause investigations and process improvement initiatives using Pareto Analysis and Lean Six Sigma methods.
• Partner with contract manufacturers to manage quality requirements and contract quality planning.
• Coordinate supplier quality and product quality assurance activities across engineering and other departments.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in process, product, or supplier quality engineering.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-volume consumer electronics.
• Strong Python and Pandas DataFrame skills for data manipulation and analysis.
• Understanding of box-build, SMT, and fabrication commodities, including complex contract quality requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Lean or Six Sigma certification, including DMAIC.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities.
