Senior Structures Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD per year

Develops the Terran R launch vehicle and the factory systems required to manufacture and launch rockets.

What you will do

• Conceptualize structural load paths, complex structures, and adjacent system packaging for Terran R.
• Design and size primary and secondary flight structures, including thrust structures, propellant tanks, interstages, and fairings.
• Review static and dynamic loads, material properties, test data, and structural requirements.
• Perform structural analysis using hand calculations, finite element methods, Nastran, and ANSYS.
• Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and result evaluation.
• Create and release drawings, support fabrication, and improve manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis, finite element methods, and structural testing.
• At least 1 year of experience working on structures strengths.
• Ability to lead projects to completion, document technical work, and present recommendations.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of mechanical or structural design and analysis experience.
• Experience with NX/TeamCenter, Nastran, ANSYS, GD&T, and drafting.
