Lead Commodity Manager

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Own and execute global sourcing strategies for chemicals, industrial bulk gases, and cylinder gases.
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, performance management, business reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Manage long-term gas supply models, including continuity planning, distribution, logistics, and supplier operations.
• Drive cost savings, should-cost analysis, commercial improvements, and total cost of ownership optimization.
• Build relationships with supplier technical teams and partner with product development and manufacturing on new product introductions.
• Lead complex cross-functional and multi-site initiatives, negotiate supplier agreements, and provide market and supplier intelligence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity/category management.
• Experience setting category strategy, preparing executive-ready recommendations, and influencing senior stakeholders across technical, operations, quality, EHS, and finance functions.
• Demonstrated negotiation, communication, prioritization, decision-making, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
