Category Manager (Supply Chain Procurement)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States

Salary: $85,840–$134,125 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and lead regional or global direct-materials procurement category strategies.
• Manage total cost of ownership, supply-chain resilience, business risks, product availability, and supplier-related escalations.
• Analyze markets, make sourcing decisions, and align category strategies with stakeholders across sites and regions.
• Coordinate materials sourcing for new product introduction projects and define category RFx lists with Procurement, Engineering, R&D, and Marketing.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and prices, monitor performance, and support supplier development.
• Lead or contribute to process improvement, cost reduction, resourcing, tariff mitigation, risk mitigation, and supplier-quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in category management, procurement, or buyer roles.
• Experience managing suppliers and improving supplier cost and quality performance.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Ability to collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
