Category Manager - Electronics

Location: Torrance, CA; relocation to a new facility in Hawthorne, CA planned for summer. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) and must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR.

Base salary: $160,000–$175,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own category strategy and supplier selection for PCBAs, connectors, power supplies, motor drives, and electronic sub-assemblies.
• Lead sourcing for new programs from RFQ through supplier award, negotiating cost, lead time, and commercial terms.
• Manage allocation risk, lead-time volatility, obsolescence, and multi-source strategies to protect production continuity.
• Partner with design engineering, program management, and quality on component selection, supplier corrective actions, and program milestones.
• Negotiate long-term agreements, pricing tiers, and consigned inventory arrangements with distributors and OEM manufacturers.
• Monitor commodity trends and support make/buy analysis, total-cost-of-ownership modeling, and supplier compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain for electronic components.
• Experience sourcing semiconductors, PCBAs, electronic sub-assemblies, connectors, and power electronics.
• Working knowledge of DMSMS and electronic component obsolescence management.
• Experience negotiating supply agreements, pricing, and long-term commitments with distributors and OEM electronics manufacturers.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and counterfeit electronic parts avoidance, including AS5553 and AS6081.
• U.S. Person status under ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) is required; a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Epicor.
• Experience supporting flight controls, actuation systems, or aircraft systems programs.
• Experience sourcing power supplies or motor drives.
