TL;DR
Senior Specialist, Production Planner (Manufacturing): Developing and optimizing production schedules across multiple work centers to align manufacturing, inventory, material flow, and customer demand with an accent on SAP/MRP planning, capacity management, and master data accuracy. Focus on resolving material, labor, tooling, and capacity constraints, coordinating cross-functional execution, and supporting engineering and quality change processes.

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. The role requires the ability to travel less than 10% to manufacturing sites as needed.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

  • Develop, manage, and adjust production schedules across multiple work centers to support demand forecasts and on-time delivery.
  • Review MRP signals, create and update work orders, and communicate planning changes to manufacturing and procurement.
  • Identify and resolve material, labor, tooling, and capacity constraints through structured problem solving.
  • Lead weekly capacity and production meetings, driving accountability for execution and mitigation actions.
  • Maintain planning master data, review engineering and quality changes, and ensure accurate planning records.
  • Prepare work-order packets, analyze variances, support root-cause investigations, and coordinate tooling or process updates.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced SAP experience, including materials management or production planning modules, plus strong MRP/ERP knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret capacity constraints, make independent decisions, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, stand and walk for extended periods, and use required personal protective equipment.
