System Test Engineer

Location: Carlsbad, California or Germantown, Maryland, United States

Salary: $95,000–$149,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $117,500–$176,500 annually.

What you will do

• Prepare test plans, procedures, test cases, and customer requirements for system development.
• Develop and build custom test hardware and automation using company and industry standards.
• Lead test system deployment from hardware and software integration through design verification and full-rate production.
• Use RF test equipment to evaluate hardware and software releases for satellite communication products.
• Develop tests for legacy products and new modem hardware platforms across the full product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multifunctional engineering teams to resolve integration and system verification failures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience creating test requirements, plans, cases, methodologies, and manufacturing test documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience evaluating products using technical design and functional documentation.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power supplies, boundary scan, and other laboratory equipment.
• Familiarity with Linux and basic technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including OSI, Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, MAC addresses, IP, TCP, and UDP.
• US citizenship required.
• Availability for up to 10% travel.

Nice to have

• Experience debugging Linux-based products.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, C/C++, Java, or another language.
• Experience with requirements traceability tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
• Experience with wireless, satellite communications, SATCOM, or RF systems.
