Salary: $120,540–$209,520 USD annually, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

  • Develop RF antenna telemetry, tracking, mission data, payload data, and communications systems for crewed space stations and visiting vehicles.
  • Design and test RF antenna hardware from concept through production across VHF through Ka-band.
  • Perform architecture trade studies, requirements definition, component design, and development management for radios and optical or laser systems.
  • Model, simulate, fabricate, and characterize antennas, filters, passives, RF front ends, and feed systems.
  • Own the full lifecycle of related hardware, including development, testing, integration, operations, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical direction to hardware development, manufacturing, integration, and test teams and create RF installation procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience with RF design, analysis, or unit-level testing; academic projects, internships, and professional experience qualify.
  • Experience designing and integrating RF antenna systems with transmitters, receivers, LNAs, PAs, couplers, filters, and related components.
  • Experience with RF simulation tools such as SPICE, ADS, CST, or HFSS and RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, power meters, cable analyzers, or SDRs.
  • Experience with electrical schematic capture software such as Altium or OrCAD.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
  • GNU Radio, software-defined radio, RF demodulation, decommutation, FEC, CRC, IRIG, or CCSDS experience.
  • Knowledge of space radiation effects, electrical bonding, antenna measurement techniques, and environmental testing for spaceflight electronics.
  • Programming experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, or JavaScript.
  • Experience analyzing operational RF performance data and improving or debugging antenna products.
