Mechanical Engineering Manager I (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $131,592.40–$197,388.60 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus plan and benefits for regular employees working 20+ hours per week.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers.
• Provide technical leadership for complex mechanical systems, subsystems, and precision mechanisms.
• Guide architecture decisions, design reviews, validation activities, root cause analysis, and technical problem solving.
• Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and safety requirements.
• Partner with program management and cross-functional teams to deliver products from concept through production release.
• Manage priorities, resources, technical risks, product improvements, and engineering process enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience developing mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Experience leading engineering projects, mentoring engineers, or providing technical leadership.
• Demonstrated success designing complex systems, subsystems, or assemblies.
• Strong understanding of product development from concept through production release.
• Experience with 3D CAD and PLM tools, preferably Creo and Windchill, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience managing direct reports within an engineering organization.
• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, automation, robotics, vacuum systems, precision motion, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with NPI programs, engineering analysis, validation methodologies, SEMI standards, cleanroom environments, or high-reliability systems.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.
