Sr Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $117,800–$200,300 annually

What you will do

• Drive opto-mechanical and precision mechanism designs from requirements and feasibility studies through detailed design, prototyping, release, and manufacturing handoff.
• Develop 3D solid models and detailed drawings using Creo.
• Perform fluid, thermal, and vibrational analysis using hand calculations and FEA modeling.
• Conduct GD&T and detailed tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, procure and test prototype materials, and support system integration.
• Create assembly, test, and manufacturing documentation.

Requirements

• Doctorate with no related experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with 3D solid modeling.
• At least 1 year of experience with FEA and GD&T.
• Strong background in mechanism design, communication, and problem-solving.
• Basic understanding of optical subsystems.
• Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings.
