What you will do
- Drive opto-mechanical and precision mechanism designs from requirements and feasibility studies through detailed design, prototyping, release, and manufacturing handoff.
- Develop 3D solid models and detailed drawings using Creo.
- Perform fluid, thermal, and vibrational analysis using hand calculations and FEA modeling.
- Conduct GD&T and detailed tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, procure and test prototype materials, and support system integration.
- Create assembly, test, and manufacturing documentation.
Requirements
- Doctorate with no related experience, or a masterβs degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelorβs degree with 5 years of related experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with 3D solid modeling.
- At least 1 year of experience with FEA and GD&T.
- Strong background in mechanism design, communication, and problem-solving.
- Basic understanding of optical subsystems.
- Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings.
