TL;DR
First Shift Manufacturing Test Development Engineer III (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Designing, validating, and sustaining electrical and mechanical test systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment with an accent on automated test equipment, custom fixtures, data acquisition, and cross-functional engineering. Focus on hands-on debugging across electronics, mechanics, software, sensors, motion control, and robotics, while analyzing test data to improve throughput, repeatability, and equipment reliability.

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $95,216–$142,824 USD gross annual base salary, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

  • Own manufacturing test systems from concept through deployment, production use, and sustaining support.
  • Design and validate electrical and mechanical test solutions, including automated test equipment, custom fixtures, tooling, custom PCBs, and NI DAQ systems.
  • Fabricate and implement custom hardware using additive and subtractive manufacturing methods.
  • Debug test equipment, data acquisition devices, software, sensors, intersystem communication, PCBAs, motion controllers, and robotics.
  • Analyze test data to identify failure modes, root causes, process variation, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support new product introduction and collaborate with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and Process Engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of engineering experience; manufacturing experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD, and electrical schematics or PCB design tools such as Altium or KiCad.
  • Experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQs, signal analyzers, and National Instruments products including LabVIEW, TestStand, cDAQ, and PXIe.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and system-level issues, with exposure to vacuum, RF, motion control, and/or high-voltage systems.
  • Ability to use fabrication tools and data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, or MATLAB.
