Base pay range: $83,000–$119,000 USD annually for California.

What you will do

  • Lead spacecraft integration and test campaigns across multiple development stages.
  • Define system requirements and verification and validation plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop acceptance, qualification, and research-and-development test plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and operate Vibe, TVAC, Thermal, EMI, and other environmental test systems.
  • Build and maintain mechanical and electrical ground support equipment and facilities.
  • Investigate anomalous vehicle behavior and interface with ground software, flight software configurations, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or another engineering discipline.
  • Engineering experience in the aerospace industry, including test engineering or another hands-on engineering role; the Engineer II level requires 2+ years.
  • Proficiency with C, C++, Python, or MATLAB, plus Windows 10 and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience writing technical documentation, including procedures, reports, and requirements.
  • Eligibility to work on U.S. government-regulated space technology may require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or applicable export authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Environmental testing experience, including thermal vacuum or random vibration testing.
  • Knowledge of satellite subsystems such as CDH, ADCS, EPS, and COMM.
  • Experience with clean rooms, ESD-sensitive equipment, electrical test equipment, sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition.
  • Experience with spacecraft harness design, 3D CAD, RF testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, networking, or Linux.
  • Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline, or 4+ years of aerospace test engineering experience.
