Senior Environmental Test Systems Engineer (LabVIEW)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite environmental testing with travel to offsite test houses as required

Base salary: $101,000–$146,500 for Level II or $120,500–$158,000 for Senior level, annually

What you will do

• Create environmental test plans, procedures, and reports for internal and external requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and execute environmental and functional tests for avionics and other vehicle components.
• Perform failure analysis and develop recovery plans for failed tests.
• Maintain and operate vibration tables, thermal chambers, and existing environmental test instrumentation.
• Design new environmental test instrumentation systems and support their operation.
• Coordinate testing across ground and air support equipment, flight-test activities, and external test houses.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, software engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft, or launch vehicle integration.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience for Level II or 5–10 years for Senior level.
• Experience with environmental component-level testing, launch vehicle or aircraft electrical-system integration, and test instrumentation design.
• Ability to review electrical and mechanical schematics and communicate technical challenges to test stakeholders.
• Knowledge of environmental and test standards including DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Nice to have

• Environmental acceptance and qualification testing experience, including EMC testing.
• Experience with NI cRIO, cDAQ, Curtiss-Wright KAM-500, IADS, and digital test procedures.
• Expertise with Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, PowerShell, Git, JIRA, SolidWorks, CAD, Capital, or Zuken.
• Experience testing RF transmitters, GPS systems, RF cabling, and RF antennas.
