Base salary: $100,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft, including connectors, backshells, wires, shielding, and routing.
  • Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, interface definitions, fabrication drawings, and other harness documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and assembly, integration, and test teams to integrate harnesses into spacecraft.
  • Create and maintain harness bills of materials in the product lifecycle management system.
  • Define and verify acceptance criteria through electrical testing and inspection.
  • Perform electrical design and analysis, participate in design reviews, and troubleshoot harness issues during fabrication, integration, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
  • Harness Design Engineer II: 2+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
  • Senior Harness Design Engineer I: 5+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
  • For US office roles, candidates must meet US Government ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to work in production areas with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, including occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
  • Aerospace or defense industry experience, including satellite development or operations.
  • Experience with Capital Essentials, NX, Teamcenter, JAMA, and space-grade harness standards.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, communication systems, and harness electrical testing.
  • Knowledge of thermal and mechanical considerations for harness routing and integration.
