Salary: $110,000–$155,000 per year

Company

hirify.global develops in-space transportation vehicles and orbital transport services for missions beyond Low Earth Orbit and throughout LEO.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical harness architectures for assigned space-vehicle programs.
  • Translate system requirements into detailed interconnect designs covering wiring, connectors, shielding, grounding, power distribution, and signal performance.
  • Create and release schematics, system block diagrams, production drawings, assembly instructions, and verification procedures.
  • Lead design reviews, trade studies, risk identification, prototyping, and continuous design improvement.
  • Coordinate electrical requirements across mechanical, software, electrical, product, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Manage harness design contributions across multiple programs and development phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing wiring and interconnect systems for aerospace, defense, or other harsh-environment applications.
  • Experience owning complete interconnect system designs, including signal performance, power distribution, grounding, shielding, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of current capacity, voltage limits, redundancy, bandwidth, EMI/EMC, electrical failure modes, voltage drop, thermal effects, and crosstalk.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and interconnect documentation, optimize for manufacturability and mass efficiency, and conduct component and topology trade studies.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards for formboards, manufacturing drawings, and production documentation.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements for cable and harness design, fabrication, inspection, and acceptance.
  • Experience qualifying flight hardware and defining environmental, mechanical, wear, and service-life test and analysis approaches.
  • Experience with 3D harness routing in PLM-managed CAD environments, preferably NX and Teamcenter.
  • Familiarity with radiation effects, communication standards, and data buses such as Ethernet, CAN, and RS-422.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, YAML, and JSON for electrical interconnect systems and database integration.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with stock-option eligibility.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Hiring process
