Lead Engineer - Software Engineering

Location: Hook, UK — hybrid work environment; travel: 0–10%

What you will do

• Develop full-stack software and platform solutions involving front-end, back-end, and third-party SaaS integrations.
• Build, run, and modernize digital products, including event reporting and custom-engineered solutions.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Product Owners, and senior engineers on product backlogs, sizing, and delivery approaches.
• Apply secure coding, privacy, data protection, quality assurance, and compliance practices.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to hackathons, rapid prototyping, rotations, and the engineering community.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with modern application architecture, cloud-native design, product-oriented delivery, and DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with programming, scripting, markup, and web technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Node, Next.js, or React.
• Experience with CI/CD, TDD, Kubernetes, platform support, integrations, release management, regression testing, and data obfuscation.
• Experience designing API-first integration patterns, scaling API ecosystems, and implementing authentication and authorization protocols.
• Experience delivering large-scale digital solutions and communicating complex technical topics across IT teams and third parties.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
