TL;DR
Lead Fullstack Developer (AI): Building and delivering client-facing digital products with React, Node, Java, Azure, JavaScript, and TypeScript across cross-functional agile teams with an accent on full-stack engineering, cloud deployment, and AI-native development practices. Focus on leading technical direction, mentoring engineers, solving complex technical challenges, and improving engineering quality through code reviews, paired programming, and automated testing.
Location: Hybrid, with two days per week required in Edinburgh or Glasgow, UK. Occasional travel to client sites or CreateFuture offices may be required.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and test frontend and backend components for client digital products.
- Build robust backend systems using Java, RESTful APIs, and database technologies.
- Develop modern frontend applications with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or other Single Page Application frameworks.
- Lead the technical direction of client projects and ensure solutions are clearly understood and implemented.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote code reviews, paired programming, automated tests, and other engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, product, design, and client teams to solve complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Commercial experience with one or more relevant stacks, including React, Node, Azure, JavaScript, TypeScript, automation, or mobile development.
- Experience with full-stack development across frontend and backend systems.
- Experience deploying and hosting applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with AI-native development practices such as Claude Code, Codex, or Spec Driven Development.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, facilitate knowledge sharing, and take responsibility for project success.
- Availability to work two days per week from the Edinburgh or Glasgow office.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Splunk, Chef, Puppet, or Grafana.
