Environmental Test Engineer III (Aerospace)

Location: Environmental Test Lab in Leander, Texas, United States. Onsite role.

What you will do

• Lead planning, setup, and execution of launch vehicle and spacecraft component testing.
• Author and review test procedures, plans, data packages, and reports.
• Design test fixtures and support test rack and enclosure development.
• Lead test readiness reviews, debriefs, technical meetings, and test authorization.
• Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions.
• Improve testing processes and facilities while troubleshooting issues identified in test data.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of related test experience.
• Experience with vibration, shock, and thermal testing, failure investigations, root cause analysis, and non-conformances.
• Knowledge of LabView, hardware schematics, laboratory test equipment, oscilloscopes, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.
• Ability to work independently on accelerated schedules with strong documentation and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• LabView programming and 3-D modeling skills.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461E, SMC-S-016, or other rigorous environmental testing standards.
• Experience working with external governing agencies, range safety agencies, and designing test racks or rack enclosures.
