Contracting Director (Healthcare)

Location: NYC H + H, with attendance required 4 days per week. Hospital environment; no travel required.

Salary: $113,000–$188,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage strategic supplier relationships, contract categories, and complex contracts across an assigned service line.
• Lead supplier negotiations and competitive sourcing processes covering pricing, terms, conditions, and contract value.
• Oversee contract operations and financial management, including sales reporting, administrative fee forecasting, accounts receivable, compliance, and contract usage.
• Analyze complex supplier sales data and develop initiatives to increase contract revenue and mitigate price increases.
• Manage contract amendments and serve as the primary contact for suppliers, internal teams, and member hospitals.
• Manage and mentor contracting staff, distribute workloads, and support departmental strategy.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of applicable work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, contracting, distribution, vendor program management, data analysis, and data mining.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and supplier research.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and standard computer programs.
• Ability to make independent decisions, communicate effectively, adapt priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a hospital environment.

Nice to have

• Experience managing high-dollar contracts exceeding $100 million in annual sales.
• Experience with Fortune 500 suppliers and healthcare or GPO contract negotiations.
• At least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Experience using databases or data warehouses to mine data.
• Master’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related discipline.
