TL;DR
Quality Control Inspector (Nuclear Energy): Performing inspections and tests for reactor materials, components, fabrication, and assemblies with an accent on dimensional accuracy, material traceability, welding quality, and compliance with ASME and NQA-1. Focus on identifying nonconformances, maintaining auditable quality records, verifying calibration and measurement systems, and supporting corrective actions.

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas; candidates must be based in the United States

What you will do

  • Inspect and test safety-related, special-treatment, and other designated materials, components, fabrication, and assemblies.
  • Verify dimensional tolerances, GD&T, workmanship, fit-up, weld conformance, drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements.
  • Review CMTRs/MTRs, inspection and test documentation, acceptance records, and material and weld traceability.
  • Document results, identify and segregate nonconforming conditions, and maintain complete quality records.
  • Participate in audits, NCR/CAPA, root cause analysis, corrective-action verification, and MRB activities.
  • Control calibration of gauges and inspection equipment and support metrology activities, including gage R&R.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. person status is required under 10 CFR Part 810; non-compliant foreign citizenships are not permitted.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant inspection or testing experience in applicable disciplines; capability may correspond to Level I, II, or III qualification.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection criteria.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional metrology, material traceability, inspection documentation, ASME, and NQA-1.
  • Ability to perform shop-floor inspections for extended periods, safely handle components, and meet visual acuity and color differentiation requirements.
