Quality Control Inspector, Staff (Nuclear)

Location: Middleburg Heights, Ohio, United States; on-site inspection work supporting manufacturing operations.

Salary: $25.00–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform first-article, receiving, in-process, final, visual, dimensional, and testing inspections of materials, parts, and equipment.
• Use inspection and test equipment, including surface plates, height gauges, comparators, attribute gauges, measuring tools, pressure gauges, and shop-floor test stands.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, charts, procedures, certifications, and other technical data to determine product acceptance or rejection.
• Set up or adapt inspection techniques and equipment for standard, non-standard, and special products; use CMMs for dimensional inspections and analyze reports.
• Review and disposition nonconforming and customer-returned material, including rework, scrap, and supplier returns.
• Maintain inspection, test, traceability, and rejection records; calibrate inspection equipment and coordinate inspection status with other departments, customers, government inspectors, and auditors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of hands-on industrial and metrology inspection experience.
• Knowledge of quality practices, ISO, gauge calibration, metrology, and GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform visual inspections, review documentation, and use inspection equipment.
• Ability to set up and use a CMM, develop dimensional inspection methods, and analyze inspection reports.
• Intermediate or advanced algebra, geometry, and trigonometry skills; proficiency with Microsoft applications and Outlook.
