Process Utility Operator (Waste Management)

Salary: $33.22–$44.18 per hour

What you will do

• Support plant operations and maintenance during evening and overnight hours.
• Conduct steam blows, line warm-ups, customer steam line startups, walkdowns, steam trap audits, valve greasing, and sootblower preventive maintenance.
• Repair and maintain pumps, gauge glasses, heat exchangers, filters, glycol systems, compressors, turbine-generator systems, cooling fans, cranes, and HVAC equipment.
• Provide shift coverage for operations roles and assist with nighttime repairs, plant upsets, tube failures, outages, and specialized cleaning projects.
• Lead contractor groups, train new operators, serve on the confined space rescue team, and act as a designated entry supervisor and qualified permit technician.
• Perform minor repairs using welding, light fabrication, plumbing, and mechanical skills.

Requirements

• Industrial, utility, or heavy equipment operations experience is strongly preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor maintenance.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow compliance procedures.
• Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including a full-face respirator, and work in industrial and dirty environments.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and manual handling.
