TL;DR
Field Water Treatment Technician III (RO/DI): Operating, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing mobile reverse osmosis and deionization systems at client and project sites with an accent on water chemistry monitoring, field troubleshooting, and equipment reliability. Focus on diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and process failures, maintaining high-purity water quality, and training site personnel and junior technicians during deployments requiring 90% or more travel.

Location: Field-based role with travel to client and project sites 90% or more, including extended deployments.

Salary: $15.63–$41.54 per hour.

What you will do

  • Lead site assessments, installation planning, installation, and commissioning of mobile reverse osmosis and deionization equipment.
  • Operate high-purity water treatment systems and monitor resistivity, TDS, pH, conductivity, flow rates, and other quality parameters.
  • Adjust system controls and chemical dosing, identify process deviations, and respond to alarm conditions.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and process-related failures while escalating complex issues to engineering or OEM support.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, document service activities, track intervals, and maintain field equipment.
  • Train client operators and junior technicians, update SOPs, and contribute to technical reviews and operational best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating or maintaining RO, DI, or similar water treatment systems.
  • Working knowledge of water chemistry and high-purity water quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and process systems in the field.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to data accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 90% or more, including extended deployments.
  • English proficiency sufficient to understand safety training and respond to emergency instructions. Valid driver's license and knowledge of emergency equipment operation are also required.
