Field Water Treatment Technician

Location: Ludington, Michigan, United States; field-based with 90% or more travel to client and project sites

Salary: $14.42–$28.85 per hour

What you will do

• Install, commission, operate, and maintain mobile water treatment equipment, including bag, sand, media, and resin filtration systems.
• Monitor chlorine, iron, total dissolved solids, pH, flow rates, and other water chemistry parameters.
• Adjust system controls and chemical dosing to maintain water quality within specified limits.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and process-related failures, perform field repairs, and escalate issues to engineering or OEM support when required.
• Perform preventive maintenance, track service intervals, and maintain equipment cleanliness and serviceability.
• Record operational data, maintain field logs, document corrective actions, and contribute to operational best practices.

Requirements

• Experience operating or maintaining water treatment systems, including solids removal, media, or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, equipment, and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and process systems in a field environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel 90% or more, including extended deployments.
• English proficiency sufficient to understand safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
• Valid driver's license, knowledge of emergency equipment operation, and a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
