TL;DR
Desktop Support Engineer - Yeovil (Windows/SCCM): Building, configuring, deploying, and supporting desktop, laptop, VDI, smartphone, and server environments for an on-site client with an accent on hardware and software troubleshooting, endpoint deployment, and VIP support. Focus on investigating complex incidents, managing Windows and SCCM deployments, supporting security and connectivity tools, and covering nearby sites when required.
Location: On-site in Yeovil, United Kingdom; occasional travel within a two-hour radius may be required.

What you will do
- Build, configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, VDI terminals, and related peripherals.
- Install and deploy software, operating systems, and user applications.
- Investigate hardware and software incidents, perform break-fix work, and upgrade desktop, laptop, and server equipment.
- Provide Android and iOS smartphone support, VIP support, and customer-facing assistance.
- Support customer projects and provide cover at nearby sites when required.
- Participate in overtime and on-call duties when necessary.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in a deskside or desktop support role with demonstrable hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and operating system or application deployment.
- Strong verbal and written communication, including accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence.
- Eligibility to obtain SC Security Clearance is required.
Nice to have
- Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, legacy operating systems, Trellix EPO, and client-side Wi-Fi troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of Windows security configuration, encryption, VPN tools, BitLocker, Cisco, F5, and Zscaler.
- Relevant Windows training or certification and experience in a similar role.
- A clean full driving licence and willingness to learn new technologies.
