TL;DR
End User Support (Windows/Active Directory): Providing onsite and remote technical support for employees while installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting workstations, peripherals, and user accounts with an accent on cross-platform desktop support and secure remote access. Focus on diagnosing hardware and software issues, managing helpdesk records, configuring endpoint devices, and supporting users across the Hemel Hempstead office and wider business.
Location: Hybrid, Hemel Hempstead, England, United Kingdom. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. The role is subject to vetting and reference checks and may require a DBS check.

What you will do
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to employees in the Hemel Hempstead office and across the wider business.
- Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, peripherals, and mobile technology.
- Support Windows and iOS environments, including user accounts, password resets, and network access for remote users.
- Document, track, and monitor incidents in the ISM helpdesk system through to resolution.
- Promote best practices for file sharing, encryption, and secure desktop usage.
- Identify opportunities to improve the end-user support service and recommend constructive changes.
Requirements
- Experience setting up and maintaining desktop hardware and peripheral accessories.
- Software and hardware troubleshooting experience, including Windows 10 and 11.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Active Directory, password resets, and account creation.
- Knowledge of laptop and desktop components such as RAM and SSD/HDD storage.
- Strong communication, listening, analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance and pre-existing UK right to work and travel are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Entra.
- Knowledge of VMware support.
- Experience with laptop imaging and building.
- Experience supporting the Microsoft 365 suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
