Patient Access Specialist - PRN

Location: Onsite in Summerville, South Carolina, United States

Starting pay: $17 per hour or above, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admission and pre-registration activities for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Complete medical necessity, eligibility, compliance, and insurance verification checks to support clean claims and point-of-service collections.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms, obtaining required signatures and documentation.
• Conduct account audits, correct records, maintain reporting data, and meet quality and point-of-service goals.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, colleagues, and other callers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Summerville, South Carolina.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-supported process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
