Patient Access Specialist - Oconto Falls PRN

Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Clare Hospital in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, United States. PRN schedule with flexible, as-needed coverage for call-outs at outpatient and emergency departments on any shift, including an on-call rotation.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients, including assigning medical record numbers and collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice screening for Medicare patients.
• Process physician orders, consent forms, patient education documents, signatures, and required documentation.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Conduct account audits, correct documentation issues, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, colleagues, and providers.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite at HSHS - St. Clare Hospital in Oconto Falls, WI.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company paid.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
• Ability to follow regulatory, organizational, and Patient Access policies and processes.
