Master Patient Index Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote - Nationwide, United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of computerized Master Patient Index data in support of compliance, regulatory standards, and patient care.
• Analyze electronic medical record reports to identify duplicate or multiple patient files.
• Merge and unmerge patient records across facilities and departments, consolidating or linking records as appropriate.
• Investigate contact-move requests, registration errors, identity theft cases, and other patient-data discrepancies.
• Resolve demographic and data-quality issues, including chart corrections and updates to patient information.
• Work with CarePATH, registration, scheduling, and client-facility teams on medical record number questions.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of health information management experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Ability to complete the CRCR certification within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
