Health Information Management Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at a facility in Springfield, Illinois, United States; part-time flexible daytime hours

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Analyze and reanalyze medical records accurately and on time.
• Complete accounts from EMR documentation and missing-document work queues when records are received.
• Follow up with ancillary, nursing, and provider teams regarding missing documentation and dictation.
• Review electronic medical records, create charting deficiencies, and assign them to the appropriate providers.
• Manage analysis-specific electronic and manual work queues and maintain unbilled account status updates.
• Document workflows, report policy or process issues, and route systematic problems for resolution.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidates are welcome.
• Knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission regulations is preferred.
• EMR experience is preferred.
• Healthcare revenue cycle or acute-care facility HIM experience is preferred.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI-based process improvements.
• CRCR certification is required within nine months of hire; the company pays for the certification.
