Software Engineer - Mission Manager (Kubernetes)

Location: Seattle, WA; hybrid work

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Build and evolve robust APIs that allow internal and customer developers to interact with Kubernetes-based runtimes.
• Develop Kubernetes controllers and infrastructure abstractions for secure, infrastructure-agnostic application deployment.
• Use Kubernetes primitives, the surrounding open-source ecosystem, and service lifecycle semantics to solve business-critical problems at scale.
• Work with customer-facing and forward-deployed engineers to identify product gaps, improvements, and fixes.
• Drive a technical roadmap focused on scalability, reliability, risk reduction, and lower operational burden.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver timely technical solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ year contributing to system design or architecture, including reliability and scaling.
• 1+ year as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
• Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or an equivalent language.
• Experience designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
