Staff Software Engineer (Go)

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $244,000–$305,000 USD per year, plus equity and potential variable compensation

What you will do

• Build and scale the Bring Your Own Cloud Logs offering for customer-managed infrastructure.
• Develop high-throughput systems for log processing, routing, transformation, and storage across distributed environments.
• Make customer-controlled deployments operate like a managed product, including deployment, upgrades, configuration, diagnostics, observability, reliability, and secure operation.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives and align engineers, product managers, and stakeholders on complex projects.
• Improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through trade-off analysis and capacity planning.
• Contribute hands-on to critical code paths, debugging, and deployment challenges in customer environments.

Requirements

• Significant experience building software installed, deployed, and operated in customer environments.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, scalability, performance optimization, and high-throughput data processing.
• Proficiency in systems-level programming with Go, Rust, or C++, and experience with Linux systems.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure and networking troubleshooting.
• Production experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional engineering efforts and influencing technical direction.
