TL;DR
Test Technician (Aerospace): Building, operating, and maintaining test equipment and fluid systems for rocket engine testing with an accent on pressurization, propellant, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hydro proof operations. Focus on fabricating and troubleshooting test-stand hardware, performing hazardous test procedures, and maintaining calibrated equipment in an onsite Mojave environment.

Location: Mojave, United States; onsite

Compensation: $45.00–$55.00 per hour, with a Mojave differential pay.

What you will do

  • Fabricate, assemble, operate, and maintain test equipment for aerospace testing.
  • Perform pressurization, propellant, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hydro proof testing.
  • Provide direct test support for rocket engine testing and hazardous operations.
  • Build, install, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid systems, panels, tubing, test stands, and related hardware.
  • Maintain tools, service shop equipment, consumables, and a clean 5S-organized shop.
  • Work alongside engineers to build and maintain rocket motors and test articles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in aerospace or a relevant operations or test environment.
  • Experience safely operating pressure, electrical, power, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and processes, including electric and pneumatic power tools.
  • Ability to fabricate parts and assemblies from technical requirements and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be eligible to work with U.S. Government-controlled space technology under ITAR regulations, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or required Department of State authorization.

Nice to have

  • Calibration and metrology experience with pressure, flow, temperature, and electrical test devices.
  • Experience with cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic, high-pressure, and gaseous systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, P&IDs, and detailed instructions.
  • Experience with precision tools, tubing fabrication, valve and regulator cleaning, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, telehandler, or boom lift.
