Avionics Technician (Opto-mechanical)

What you will do

• Assemble, inspect, align, troubleshoot, and rework optical, opto-mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
• Use optical metrology tools to inspect assembly quality, including centration machines and interferometers where applicable.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, engineers, and quality assurance on issue resolution and process improvements.
• Record build data and maintain parts and workmanship traceability according to aerospace standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 4 years of opto-mechanical assembly experience, including assembling and aligning lenses and mirrors.
• At least 4 years of experience in a production environment such as aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics.
• Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR requirements through U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience operating centration machines and interferometers.
• At least 2 years of production experience with adhesives.
• At least 5 years of experience with opto-mechanical assemblies for space applications.
• Electromechanical assembly and cleanroom experience.
