Propulsion Technician (Fluids/Valves)

Location: Boulder County, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Compensation: $40.00–$50.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assemble mechanical valve components and fluid-system subassemblies to engineering drawings, work instructions, and travelers.
• Perform precision fitting, torquing, sealing, alignment, cleaning, and handling according to aerospace cleanliness standards.
• Conduct functional checks, leak checks, pressure testing, and troubleshooting of fluid systems and instrumented test articles.
• Operate pneumatic and hydraulic test equipment, assemble test articles with pressure transducers, thermocouples, and flow meters, and record DAQ data.
• Document build records, non-conformances, rework, and quality data while collaborating with engineering, quality, and test teams.
• Support tooling, process, assembly-flow, root-cause, and continuous-improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or an associate degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or another high-reliability industry.
• Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, calipers, micrometers, and basic measurement equipment.
• Experience building and commissioning ground support equipment, including pressure-test and leak-check panels, hand-bending tubing, and routing and fitting lines.
• Experience with pressure systems, leak-detection methods, test setups, and troubleshooting instrumented test articles.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements under ITAR/EAR or be eligible to obtain the required export license.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of aerospace or spaceflight hardware assembly experience.
• 6+ years of experience assembling valves, regulators, pumps, or fluid systems.
• Experience with solvent cleaning, lint-free handling, AS9100, or similar quality frameworks.
• Basic understanding of quality systems and configuration control.
