TL;DR
Test Technician (Avionics) (Spacecraft Testing): Performing spacecraft component and assembly testing while developing and maintaining advanced test equipment with an accent on electrical systems, instrumentation, and production test automation. Focus on designing complex test setups, troubleshooting electrical systems, calibrating environmental and robotic equipment, and resolving production non-conformances.

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Compensation: $30.00–$50.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Design and implement complex spacecraft component and assembly test setups with test engineers.
  • Improve production test processes, acceptance test flows, and automation with manufacturing engineers and production technicians.
  • Maintain and calibrate environmental and robotic test equipment.
  • Investigate production non-conformances, identify root causes, and drive dispositions.
  • Maintain process planning documentation and provide practical test setup and instrumentation guidance.
  • Support avionics testing during integrated vehicle and propulsion testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • At least 4 years of experience with electronic or propulsion assemblies, production testing, or a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of safe electrical, power, and data acquisition system operation.
  • Proficiency with wiring, electrical systems, test capability fabrication, and parts acquisition.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and implement practical solutions with minimal direction.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.
  • Seven or more years supporting production and testing of highly complex components.
  • Experience designing tooling and using CAD to create 3D-printable or sheet-metal fixtures.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently or as part of an integrated team.
