Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Austin, TX office with in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday

What you will do

• Design and implement features across the Private Access Connector, Relay, and Controller services.
• Own Controller microservices such as the rule engine, geolocation, event workers, proxy paths, and connector management.
• Diagnose production performance issues involving memory pressure, CPU saturation, latency, and autoscaling.
• Write architecture proposals and design documents and lead them through peer and architect review.
• Investigate complex production support cases involving customer environments, interoperability issues, and alternative technical solutions.
• Shape TrendAI’s AI-augmented development pipeline, including autonomous workflows, human review gates, and validation requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go or an adjacent systems language such as Rust or C++, with willingness to work across Go, Python, and C/C++.
• Experience operating customer-environment software, including on-premises services, marketplace images, update mechanisms, and long-tail version compatibility.
• Hands-on production debugging with metrics, profiling, and autoscaling technologies such as HPA and KEDA.
• Strong Linux internals knowledge, including systemd, namespaces, and networking.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS, proxies, NAT, firewalls, and agent-harness-based engineering workflows, plus excellent written communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with ZTNA, SASE, SSE, VPN, or other network security products.
• Distributed systems experience involving consistency, retries, idempotency, partial failures, and multi-region services.
• Production experience with Microsoft Azure; AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD supply-chain practices, signed releases, SBOMs, reproducible builds, or production LLM-powered systems.
• Experience driving architectural decisions across multiple services and mentoring peers.
