Solar Installation & Maintenance Support (Solar PV)

What you will do

• Assist with electrical installations for grid-connected and solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, monitoring systems, and ancillary equipment.
• Dig trenches, lay cables, install conduit, wireways, glands, luminaires, and related electrical components.
• Support the master installation electrician and operate trenching equipment after training.
• Document electrical system specifications, installation guidelines, and best practices with the engineering team.
• Identify process improvements that streamline installations and reduce electrical issues.
• Share solar electrical knowledge with colleagues, installers, and customers.

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid South African driver’s license and ability to self-drive a company vehicle to installation sites.
• Knowledge of electrical fundamentals, circuitry, and photovoltaic system components.
• Familiarity with solar panels, inverters, charge controllers, and batteries.
• Technical or electrical troubleshooting experience, or experience in the solar energy industry, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and initiative.
