Staff Technician, Welder (R5113)

hirify.global operates an Aircraft Operations Division focused on production and prototype aerospace hardware.

What you will do

• Perform precision TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel.
• Fabricate prototype assemblies, fixtures, tooling, and development hardware from drawings, CAD models, and sketches.
• Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T requirements.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test engineers to iterate prototype designs.
• Inspect, repair, and document welds while supporting dye penetrant, leak, and X-ray inspection requirements.
• Develop welding procedures and work instructions, maintain quality compliance, and mentor junior welders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8+ years of precision welding experience in aerospace, motorsports, defense, or prototype manufacturing.
• Expert TIG/GTAW proficiency, including thin-wall tubing and precision assemblies.
• Ability to pass aerospace weld qualification tests across multiple positions and materials.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, distortion control, heat management, fixturing, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around welding fumes, heat, and fabrication equipment with PPE.

Nice to have

• AWS D17.1 or equivalent aerospace welding certification.
• Experience with pressure vessels, propulsion systems, fluid systems, or flight hardware.
• Familiarity with vacuum, leak-check, or clean-room fabrication.
• Fabrication or machining experience and design-for-manufacturing feedback experience.
