Wire Harness Electrical Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: hirify.global is headquartered in north Austin, Texas. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required under ITAR regulations.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate electrical wiring interconnect system designs for launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Create schematics, wire diagrams, 3D CAD harness routings, 2D assembly drawings, technical documentation, and reports.
• Coordinate electrical harness requirements and interfaces across engineering disciplines, production, and integration.
• Support design reviews by presenting design, analysis, and test results for flight hardware.
• Design and improve cable assemblies, shielding, grounding, and vehicle-level harness implementations.
• Participate in component and system design, manufacturing, testing, and final integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering with 1–3 years of experience in a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with harness design, fabrication, installation standards, and test equipment.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and MSFC-SPEC-494.
• Experience selecting connectors, backshells, wires, and other harness components.
• Understanding of electrical grounding requirements and system-level grounding through harness design.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work proactively in a team, manage concurrent tasks, and execute with minimal guidance.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or a master’s degree with one or more years of experience.
• Experience producing end-to-end interconnect schematics, wire diagrams, and harness assembly drawings.
• Experience with Siemens NX, Capital, Teamcenter, 3D CAD design, 2D drafting, and PLM software.
• Hands-on experience with harness assembly, shielding integration, airborne vehicle electronics integration, instrumentation, or high-speed digital communication protocols.
• Knowledge of range safety, flight termination, and tracking requirements including RCC 319, RCC 324, and AFSPCMAN 91-710.
