R&D Procurement Lead

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States; hybrid

What you will do

• Develop and execute global R&D category strategies covering lab supplies, equipment, instrumentation, lab services, testing, and contracted research.
• Lead global and regional RFPs and RFIs, incorporating input from R&D stakeholders, sites, and subject-matter experts.
• Negotiate and manage master service agreements, framework agreements, pricing structures, SLAs, and performance metrics.
• Own strategic supplier relationships through performance reviews, issue resolution, continuous improvement, and supply assurance initiatives.
• Partner with R&D leaders, scientists, engineers, Operations, Finance, Legal, and site leadership.
• Lead and mentor regional buyers, sub-category managers, and efficiency buyers while ensuring contract implementation, onboarding, compliance, and value realization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement and supply chain experience.
• Experience with complex analysis, including TCO, should-cost, NPV, and value-based trade-offs.
• Proven negotiation, influence, and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience negotiating global or multi-site agreements and understanding commercial and legal terms.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

• CPSM or equivalent professional certification.
