Category Manager - Professional Services (Strategic Procurement): Developing and executing sourcing strategies for consultants, contract labor, staff augmentation, and professional services across business functions and geographies with an accent on supplier relationships, competitive procurement, and contract negotiations. Focus on optimizing costs, managing vendor performance, coordinating with Legal and Finance, and reporting measurable savings and compliance metrics.
Location: Remote USA; remote home office in North America. Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is based.
Salary: $96,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Develop and execute sourcing and category management strategies for consultants, contract labor, staff augmentation, and professional services.
- Build strategic relationships with staffing agencies, consultants, contractors, and professional services providers.
- Partner with business leaders to understand talent needs, skill requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Lead market research, benchmarking, RFx processes, vendor selection, rate negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance on onboarding, contracting, compliance, and invoicing.
- Drive cost optimization, manage supplier performance, develop business cases, and report spend, savings, headcount, vendor performance, and compliance metrics.
Requirements
- 8+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing talent categories such as staffing, consulting, professional services, or contract labor.
- Proven experience with cost savings, contract negotiations, and vendor relationship management.
- Knowledge of staffing markets, talent ecosystems, professional services, HR processes, compliance requirements, and employment law implications.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
