Welding Assistant

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas; candidates must be based in the United States

Salary: Starting at $18/hour, with overtime eligibility

What you will do

• Assist welders with material preparation, equipment setup, and daily fabrication tasks.
• Measure, cut, and position materials for welding and assembly.
• Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and support the fabrication team.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of MIG, TIG, or stick welding concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude, reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.

Nice to have

• Hands-on welding experience from personal projects, apprenticeships, or work experience.
• Completion of or enrollment in a welding or trade program.
• Familiarity with shop tools and fabrication environments.
