Pipe Welding Lead

Location: Paducah, Kentucky, United States; onsite role with extended hours and weekend work as necessary.

Compensation: $45–$60 per hour, with potential stock options and benefits for full-time hires.

hirify.global is developing and operating uranium enrichment services in the United States to restore domestic nuclear fuel production.

What you will do

• Lead daily pipe welding, fitting, and fabrication activities for process plumbing systems and structural pipe assemblies.
• Assign work, set priorities, and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and project schedules.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical direction to welders and fitters.
• Interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, weld maps, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Monitor fit-up, joint preparation, consumables, workmanship, inspection, and weld documentation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project teams to resolve technical issues and improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus professional certifications, trade training, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in pipe welding, fitting, fabrication, or a related industrial trade.
• Prior experience leading or supervising welders, fitters, or fabrication personnel.
• Strong knowledge of pipe welding, fit-up, joint preparation, sequencing, and distortion control.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
• Working knowledge of welding processes, procedures, welder qualifications, weld inspection, NDT methods, and acceptance criteria.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector, Certified Welding Supervisor, or equivalent certification.
• Experience in nuclear, chemical processing, power generation, aerospace, defense, or heavy manufacturing.
• Knowledge of process piping, pressure piping, structural fabrication, ASME Section IX, ASME B31, or AWS standards.
• Experience with welding procedure qualification, NDT coordination, pressure testing, material traceability, and specialized materials such as stainless steel or nickel alloys.
