Technical Accounting Manager (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; Workplace type: Onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Review customer contracts and amendments to determine appropriate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Analyze performance obligations, transaction prices, variable consideration, acceptance criteria, contract modifications, and measures of progress.
• Align milestone-based billing, revenue recognition, invoicing, accounts receivable, contract assets, and deferred revenue.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums and support internal and external audit requests.
• Improve contract accounting, close, internal control, and financial systems processes while advising cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated experience applying ASC 606 to complex customer contracts.
• Experience evaluating performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and over-time versus point-in-time revenue recognition.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and eligibility to work on projects subject to U.S. export regulations.

• CPA license or active progress toward CPA.
