Senior Technical Accounting Analyst

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; Workplace type: Onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year, plus potential stock options, medical, vision, dental, and 401(k) benefits.

What you will do

• Review customer contracts and amendments to determine accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP, with emphasis on ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Analyze performance obligations, transaction price, variable consideration, acceptance criteria, contract modifications, and revenue recognition timing.
• Assess milestone-based billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, contract assets, contract liabilities, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenue.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums and research guidance for complex or non-routine transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, audits, and financial statement support.
• Improve contract accounting, billing, close processes, internal controls, and related ERP or financial systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated experience applying ASC 606 to complex customer contracts.
• Experience interpreting contractual language, evaluating performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and over-time versus point-in-time recognition.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible to obtain an applicable export license.

Nice to have

• CPA license or active progress toward CPA.
• Public accounting background.
• Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
• Experience with complex or long-term customer contracts, milestone-based arrangements, and over-time revenue recognition.
